[There's a long, drawn-out pause, as Kor contemplates all this new information, trying to reconcile what he thought he knew with what Sora just told him.

And then...]

Crap, what have I been waiting around for, then?! I need to find somebody to bond with!

Yeah, you gotta make them happen.

[They're like a weird magic wedding--]

And you gotta share vows with that person too! It should be someone you get along with! Someone you can trust!

V-vows?

[Kor gets the implications there behind that.]

You're making this sound like getting married, Sora...

[Kor's cheeks turn red. He's got a pretty high, almost romanticized view of getting married someday, and this was not it.]

[Sora laughs sheepishly.]

Yeah, it does kind of sound like that, huh?

[It was a pretty intense experience for Sora, at least. And very wedding-like...]

[Kor nods. Okay, so it's like marriage. But it's also like a Somatic Bond. But it's also not like either of those and it's its own thing instead???

Kor heaves a sigh, scratching the back of his head.]

This is more complicated than I expected. Where I'm from, when you reach that point with someone, that point where you really trust and like them? The bond just happens naturally, without any thought to it. The Spiria knows what it feels, even if the brain doesn't, you know?

[That's just how it works for him.]

I guess I'll have to start thinking about bonds, then.

That sounds like it's way easier. I kind of wish it was like that.

[And honestly if it was like that Sora would probably have several bonds with several people right off the hop.]

My first bond was a lot of work! But I think it's worth it.

Wow, you already have a bond? You've only been here as long as me, but you're so much farther than me...

[He's amazed how much better Sora is at this stuff that should be his specialty. Or at least how much more informed he is.]

What was it like?

[Granted Sora came to this world with built-in bonds like Kairi and Riku.

But his first bond is a totally different story.]

Uhhh... If I'm honest with you? It was with a witch that was really sick from not bonding for months. So when we did it hurt a lot. I almost threw up.

[Ew.]

But it was okay in the end! It just kind of hurt at first because he had so much pent up magic in him, I guess?

[He... Threw up? Kor's eyes go wide. YIKES Sora. You're not doing a very good job of selling Kor on this, you know that? Or maybe he's doing a fantastic job of making Kor want to be sure to bond ASAP now. He doesn't want to do that to somebody...]

I've been trying to discharge my magic as much as I can, but... It probably isn't enough... [He's been training day in and day out to try and really get the hang of his chosen schools of magic, but that's pretty hard when you have zero experience with magic yourself.]

I'm gonna have to really find someone to bond with, I guess...

[Even if the idea of just forcing a bond to happen like that just seems... wrong to him, still.]

[He's probably doing a terrible job at convincing Kor of the benefits of bonding but he just wants to be honest. It's better to be honest about them then let Kor get caught off guard.]

But ever since we've bonded he's been a lot more stable. So it'll probably help you a lot with discharging magic too, you know?

[Sora bonded with people close and important to him. He thinks that should be an important factor too. But still--]

If you need help, I could try?

[Despite technically having three bonds... Maybe something temporary could help too.]

Eh? Really?

[Kor's taken by surprise by Sora's offer here. But he couldn't deny that was definitely an enticing offer. He hasn't known Sora very long, but... Well, that was going to be the case no matter who he bonded with right now, right? And he knows he likes Sora and they've got a lot in common.]

You'd... do that for me, Sora?

Sure, why not?

[Says Sora not really understanding the reasons why he shouldn't bond with more than three people at the moment. In his mind, he's helping a friend? How bad can it be?]

Then you won't have to worry about it!

[Is that a sniffle he hears? Sora lets out a soft chuckle.]

Hey! Hey now! That's what friends do for each other! We're friends! I've got your back.

[Kor is a nice new friend and he's really glad he's getting to know him! What would be so bad about bonding with him too! He's sure it will be alright.]

That's supposed to be my line...

[Geez, Sora, you're sounding like him. What would his friends back home think about there being a person who talks like him?

He lets out another sniffle, but no more tears. He's just emotional, okay.]

Heheh, thanks, Sora. You really know your stuff when it comes to this, so I appreciate it.

Heh, I got you this time, Kor.

[Sora beams. He is more than happy to help a friend. And luckily he's been a quick study in this world. Mostly.]

Right! So, once things settled down a bit? Let's work it out!

I'll get you back for this, Sora, just you watch!

[He doesn't say that maliciously, but when it comes to Kor, that's not a threat.

It's a promise.]

Mmm, sounds good. We'll have the best bond in the whole city, I bet!

[Sora snickers, knowing full well that it's all play. He looks forward to Kor trying to one-up him in the friendship speech department.]

Yeah! That's right! I'll talk to you soon, okay!
