[A small package is left for the recipient wrapped in tissue paper with a little red bow tied around it. Inside is a simple box with a portion of homemade chocolate fudge inside. There's a little note attached!]
happy valentines day!
you better like chocolate, kor!!!! i made them myself so you have to eat all of them!
[A package left for him? How exciting! He's never gotten a gift here before! Never mind that he's only been here a few weeks, but still, a gift! And it's from Sora, his new friend, no less!
He's excited to dig right into the chocolates, but he should give Sora a proper thank you first. It's only right!
He's had enough time to figure out how these watches work, so he uses it to call up Sora.]
[Sora blinks widely and then nods his head. He supposes with how many worlds there are out there that not everyone in the entire galaxy would have the same sort of holidays.]
It's a holiday about love and friendship! You can give chocolates to people you like or to your friends. I like to give chocolates to my friends and this is the first year I was able to figure out how to make chocolate on my own. So you get to be a lucky test subject.
[This was annoying. It still didn't make any sense to him that a person could have a "limit" on the number of bonds they can handle. Spirias become stronger the more people they connect with!
...But he had to accept the rules of this world didn't match the ones he was used to.]
Gramps always taught me to help out those in need! So if he needs help, then I'm helping out! So who is it?
[ They say that those whom are bonded may occasionally share dreams with one another. Kor and Yuma are no exceptions to this rule, though there is a unique twist to their situation: Yuma's soul is not his alone, having been fused with that of the Shining Dragon. And though the ancient being had been forced into a slumber upon returning to this world, he has recently awoken. Not due to his own power returning to him, but due to certain measures this world imposed upon his and Yuma's soul. For that, he has not only Yuma to thank, but Kor as well.
And yet in his brief time awake, the Shining Dragon couldn't help but notice something concerning about the boy. His sincerity is admirable, and his kindness towards Yuma is most welcome. Yet, after witnessing such a troubling memory from him, the Dragon couldn't help but wonder...no, he was certain that there was something more to it. Kor can hold his head high and smile all he wants; what lies beneath the surface can't hide so easily.
Normally, addressing Kor directly would not be such a simple task. Bound to Yuma as he is, the Dragon had intended to express his concerns to Yuma once things had settled. Instead, he finds that the avenue to confronting Yuma's Bonded much easier than he anticipated, appearing within Kor's dream. And here he is neither a silhouette of light, nor the lesser form that Yuma opts to use: the Shining Dragon appears here in his true form, one not seen since he last lost his physical body. Dreams are truly strange things, indeed.
But an opportunity is an opportunity, and the Dragon wastes no time in seeking out Kor. ]
[The Shining Dragon, upon entering Kor's dream, finds himself in a quaint seaside village. Specifically, the "sea" part of it all. There's a distinct salty scent to the breeze coming off the ocean, even in the dream, and it's a peaceful, almost idyllic-looking town. It's also strangely quiet at the moment. At least until a familiar voice breaks the silence, its owner exiting a small house and carrying a fishing rod.]
Ahh, today's the day, I'm gonna fish up a big one! I can just feel it in my Spiria!
[He's making his way to the beach, presently unaware of his visitor.]
[ Well, that was easy. Not that Kor is a particularly difficult person to find, but you never know when it comes to dreams.
And what a place to find him in. It's pleasant and peaceful, putting his heart at ease. However, it's also fairly small, with no room for the Shining Dragon to really land within it unless he wants to risk destroying any of the homes or other constructs here. He's here to speak with Kor, after all, not terrorize him. Though there's only so much you can do when you're his size...
So instead, the Shining Dragon opts to land in the water near the beach. He takes his time with his descent, no doubt his four wings kicking up quite the gale as he gets closer to the ground. As gently as he tries to land, however, his size and weight are enough to cause a lot of sea water to splash upward as he touches down. At the very least, it doesn't cause too much harm, and no doubt it'll get Kor's attention.
Regardless, the Dragon calls out to him anyway. Though this time his voice has a bit more of a source, it is no less imposing as before. ]
Kor Meteor.
[ He means the boy no harm, of course, but he has many questions for him. As strange of an opportunity as this is to do so, he will take it. ]
[The sudden miniature sandstorm forming on the beach certainly catches Kor's attention as the dragon's wings kick up a ton of sand. Kor shields his face with his arms.]
Ggghh--! What in the...!
[And then suddenly there was that loud splash. The sandstorm ceased once the dragon landed, replaced by a large displacement of the water. Kor's looking in the direction of the water where the sound came from, and he can scarcely believe his eyes. What in the world...?]
[ And he has his attention. Good. Although it seems his presence was a bit more alarming than he would have liked. Ah, well; it can't be helped. Nothing a bit of explaining can't fix; Kor does know who he is, after all. ]
I am NOT a lizard, boy. I am the Shining Dragon. Do you not recognize my voice?
[ Because he sure as hell wouldn't be able to recognize his form, given that Yuma can't really use it right now. Not even partially. But here, in this dream, the Dragon can exist in his full glory once more.
To be fair, he's a little offended that Kor doesn't know a dragon when he sees one, but he reasons that perhaps he's unfamiliar with them. Maybe dragons don't exist in his world? Or he's never seen one? Yuma quickly taught him the complexities of Aefenglom, so he's willing to give the benefit of a doubt. Even then, Kor has proven himself to be a very genuine person...even if he isn't always the smartest. ]
[ He knew the full moon was going to be rough. It was like that last time, and he'd heard plenty of warnings floating around about it besides. But probably what made it take Hisui by surprise was that almost nothing happened beforehand. Nothing visible, at least; he had a bigger appetite than before and that was mostly it. Were things going to be the same as last time? Was he going to end up being something different? There was really only one way to find out, and that was to wait.
For whatever reason, he didn't remember much about the full moon. It must've been an ordeal, though given how he'd managed to roll out of bed and gotten tangled up in the blankets (and tore a hole or two in one of them...whoops). He'd gotten as far as dragging himself to the bathroom for his morning routine when he found a sure sign of what this city was doing to him staring back at him in the mirror.
Sitting atop his head, twitching every so often, covered in soft black fur, was a very real pair of cat ears. ]
The hell-
[ Yeah, okay, no, that definitely didn't happen last time. The fact that these things seem to be moving on their own, as he watches them, is even worse. A quick (and painful) tug on one of them reveals that they are definitely real and this isn't some sort of prank spell cast on the mirror. The question now is, how the hell is he going to deal with these things being on his head while he wanders around town? A tail, he could deal with. Fur and claws? He handled those just fine last time. But cat ears?
Maybe if he's lucky, no one will catch him while he's digging through the pantry for breakfast... ]
[Hisui should know that, by choosing to live close to Kor, he has abandoned his right to any and all luck. It is gone, completely and totally.
Kor groggily wanders into the shared pantry on the floor ("shared" being used loosely, as there weren't many people living on the top floor of this apartment building), searching for breakfast. He stifles a yawn, sleepily scratching his side, when he pauses in the doorway, eyes laying on the mysterious fur-covered triangles protruding from a head that he couldn't quite recognize in his dozing state.
[ Although he's craving seafood, Hisui settles on a few pastries that have been stored away - he can come back for seconds later - before reaching for a plate. Keen as his hearing is now, though, one of his ears twitches in the direction of the approaching footsteps and he glances up to see who the intruder is. Figures he wouldn't be able to hide this very long, but maybe it won't be anyone that-
-oh, for god's sake. Of all the people to catch him first, it had to be this moron. Why couldn't this be one of those mornings where he's practically glued to his bed? ]
[Soren has spent nearly all his time in the Wilde, since arriving through the mirror. It's nice to go out and adventure! Help people! Etc, etc... it's a way for him to feel he's doing some good. Getting this Quest, he head out with the first interested party he could find, which is Kor! They might not know each other too well, just yet, but he seemed like a reliable guy. Soren's confident they can handle this.
Looking out over the lake, the pearls shine into view. Soren puffs up, pointing them out]
Easy! This is a piece of cake, ghosts aren't real. [... Definitely too confident]
[Likewise, even though Kor didn't know Soren all that way, he seemed like an alright guy in his book, and that makes him a friend as far as he's concerned. And any friend of his is a person worth helping with quests.
He looks out at the lake, those pearls they're after right in view.]
Sure they're real! I've fought ghosts loads of times back home.
This isn't back home, though! This'll be easy. People are scared of nothing... [he announces with little care. The Lake is spooky, sure, but it's just superstition. The Dorchacht Wilders seem like a jumpy group, anyways. They like to stay behind their wall!
Soren walks the edge of the lake, but the pearls don't get any closer to reach. Annoying, they need to get out into the water and even Soren doesn't think a swim in a mysterious lake is all that good an idea. There could be something actually dangerous hiding out there under the fog, still though the water may look. Distracted by looking out inot the water, he trips over something and... a rope? He leans down to untangle it from his boot and pulls on it, the slack leading to some piled up branches. Ah, someone stowed their row boat up on the shore!]
[Kor cocks his head in confusion at Soren's claim. Ever the bold and fearless one, he never exactly equated ghosts with "scary", so he can't help but feel befuddled at what he sees as a leap in logic. Ghosts are scary?? Even still, he follows after Soren, glancing around at their surroundings.
When Soren calls out to him, he picks up the pace, running over to where he is. He found something?!]
An old row boat?
[He grips the one side and joins Soren in trying to dislodge it from the shore.]
Nnnngh... Isn't it kinda weird to just leave your boat lying around like this?
[There is a package for Kor to find on the day of Modranicht! A red and silver wrapped gift with homemade shortbread cookies and a new winter jacket inside.]
[On the day of the holiday, a plate of homemade cookies and a sample of herbal tea mysteriously appears on his doorstep. The wrapping is decorated with a fresh lily flower (actually a Fae magic product, designed to fade away from existence in a few hours) and a ribbon. The attached handwritten note reads as follows:]
Happy Modranicht! Let’s have another great year here in Aefenglom!

[He wouldn't want to eat a pile of sugar for breakfast or something; he'd much rather have a proper meal. But as a snack? Couldn't be beat.
...though, he is a bit confused.]
