[Surprisingly, they are edible! He might have struggled a little bit but his training with the Little Chef has taught him a thing or two, now. He also worked alongside Aqua, the supreme baker of the house.]

You can feel my friendship through the chocolates? I bet you can! [Sora laughs happily.] I could try to teach you how to make them sometime?

Mmhm! [He cheerfully stuffs one of the chocolates into his mouth. Mmm, delicious friendship...]

When it comes to emotions and feelings, I guess you could say I've got a sense for them. So I can feel you really put your affection into these!

[Tastes like sweet maple and chocolate fudge! Delicious!]

Whoa, really? That's something you can do? How does that work? Is it because you're a witch?

[And here comes the twenty questions.]

[Kor shakes his head. Boy, if only that were the case. If his empathic senses helped him with being a witch, his life would be a whole lot easier right now!]

No, nothing like that. I'm a trained Somatic, so being able to sense emotions is as easy as breathing for me!

Whoa, so you can sense emotions because you're one of those? Somatic?

[Somatic?? Sounds weird.]

I've never heard of anything like that before.

Right. See this thing? [He maneuvers the camera to take a brief shot of the red thing attached to his arm.]

This is a Soma. It's a weapon that's powered by the strength of my Spiria. And me being able to use that power makes me a Somatic! Get it?

Huh! I think I do.

[Sora makes a face as if he's maybe only partially getting it.]

But I don't get it, you can actually use your soma-thing? I can't use my weapons like I usually can here!

[Kor frown. Yeah, that was a no-go.]

No... I haven't been able to get it to work here at all.

[It was disappointing, to say the least. But he refused to take it off even if it didn't work. It was an important heirloom, after all!]

But even if my Soma doesn't work, that doesn't mean all the training I did to be strong enough to use it was for nothing!

[Sora perks his head.]

Oh. Yeah! Well, maybe there's some sort of way to use it with witch magic now. What magic would be the same as the magic or stuff you used to use with your Soma? What kind of spells are you learning?

[Maybe divination...? Or some sort of enchantment type spell?]

[Wow, Sora's talking like he knows a whole lot more about this magic stuff than he does. He's a little shocked here.]

I-I dunno, concation or something like that? This magic stuff's way over my head, but when I told the teachers I wanted to be able to use my sword again, they told me this stuff was the best way to go. I haven't even been thinking about trying to get being able to Spiria Link back yet...

['conjuration' and 'evocation' are what he's referring to.]

[Having two witches as bondmates has him picking up a lot of things rather quickly. Kairi is a very quick study and Sora's a great target to practice on.]

I guess its something to think about! One thing at at time, right? It is pretty cool that you can sense emotions and stuff. If you could figure out how to keep going with that and all.

Yeah. [Kor nods. Sora got that much right at least.]

There's so much to take in this place, it's kinda overwhelming. I figure if I can fight again, I'll be happy for now.

[A pause.]

Wish they wouldn't hassle me so much about not having a bond though. I mean, it's not I can control when one happens, right?

[At least that's what he thinks, since that's how it works in his world.]

[Sora leans forward, eyes wide.]

Bonds are super important, though! Believe me! And believe them!

[He's kind of seen it first hand what happens to a witch if they don't bond...]

They're supposed to help you with learning magic too, right?

H-huh? [Whoa, Sora got unexpectedly serious about this all of a sudden.]

Well, yeah, I know they're important! Remember, I go through this kinda stuff back home!

[Despite Kor claiming he understands bonds, he may have only been half paying attention to that explanation before. He heard "bonds" and assumed he already understood that part...]

But bonds kinda just... happen, right?

[Sora shakes his head.]

Bonds here are a little bit different than the ones you know about, I think. The bonds we make here are made with a magic ceremony over in the coven.

It's a good idea for monsters and witches to be magically bonded because it helps a witch control the amount of magic they've got inside of them! And it helps monsters with, uh...

[What was it again? Sora's not been through a lot of this yet.]

It helps monster with their changes.

A ceremony, huh...

[That's definitely a pretty big change compared to what he's used to. Somatic Bonds just kinda form automatically between people when they reach a certain stage in their relationship with one another. But with the way Sora's talking, it sounds like...]

So you have to make them happen...?

[There's a long, drawn-out pause, as Kor contemplates all this new information, trying to reconcile what he thought he knew with what Sora just told him.

And then...]

Crap, what have I been waiting around for, then?! I need to find somebody to bond with!

[oathkeeper]

Yeah, you gotta make them happen.

[They're like a weird magic wedding--]

And you gotta share vows with that person too! It should be someone you get along with! Someone you can trust!

V-vows?

[Kor gets the implications there behind that.]

You're making this sound like getting married, Sora...

[Kor's cheeks turn red. He's got a pretty high, almost romanticized view of getting married someday, and this was not it.]

[Sora laughs sheepishly.]

Yeah, it does kind of sound like that, huh?

[It was a pretty intense experience for Sora, at least. And very wedding-like...]

[Kor nods. Okay, so it's like marriage. But it's also like a Somatic Bond. But it's also not like either of those and it's its own thing instead???

Kor heaves a sigh, scratching the back of his head.]

This is more complicated than I expected. Where I'm from, when you reach that point with someone, that point where you really trust and like them? The bond just happens naturally, without any thought to it. The Spiria knows what it feels, even if the brain doesn't, you know?

[That's just how it works for him.]

I guess I'll have to start thinking about bonds, then.

That sounds like it's way easier. I kind of wish it was like that.

[And honestly if it was like that Sora would probably have several bonds with several people right off the hop.]

My first bond was a lot of work! But I think it's worth it.

Wow, you already have a bond? You've only been here as long as me, but you're so much farther than me...

[He's amazed how much better Sora is at this stuff that should be his specialty. Or at least how much more informed he is.]

What was it like?

[Granted Sora came to this world with built-in bonds like Kairi and Riku.

But his first bond is a totally different story.]

Uhhh... If I'm honest with you? It was with a witch that was really sick from not bonding for months. So when we did it hurt a lot. I almost threw up.

[Ew.]

But it was okay in the end! It just kind of hurt at first because he had so much pent up magic in him, I guess?

[He... Threw up? Kor's eyes go wide. YIKES Sora. You're not doing a very good job of selling Kor on this, you know that? Or maybe he's doing a fantastic job of making Kor want to be sure to bond ASAP now. He doesn't want to do that to somebody...]

I've been trying to discharge my magic as much as I can, but... It probably isn't enough... [He's been training day in and day out to try and really get the hang of his chosen schools of magic, but that's pretty hard when you have zero experience with magic yourself.]

I'm gonna have to really find someone to bond with, I guess...

[Even if the idea of just forcing a bond to happen like that just seems... wrong to him, still.]
